DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Execute software solutions, design, develop, and perform technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems. Create secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems. Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development. Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems. Proactively identifies hidden problems, patterns in data, and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture. Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems. Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus 4 years (48 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Associate/Consultant, Software Developer Analyst, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus 2 years (24 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Associate/Consultant, Software Developer Analyst, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires two (2) years of experience with the following: Using software development life cycle including requirement gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance; Utilizing software engineering concepts including system design, testing, code review, and operational stability; Coding, developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages including Java and database querying languages including PL-SQL; Utilizing Agile methodologies including Sprint planning, Deliver early and often, Inspect and adapt, and Measure progress; Working with the Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipeline; Dependency management and vulnerability scanning; resiliency with load balancing, redundancy, and failover strategies; performance testing; produce architecture and design artifacts for software applications, develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets; Working with COBOL, CICS, IMS, IDMS, DB2, VSAM, JCL, SYNCSORT, ICE TOOL, XML, Json, Post Man, BMS Maps, CICS Main view, CA VIEW, REXX, CLIST, JAVA, OPC scheduler, SPUFI, Expediter, Intertest, MQ series, TSO/ISPF, Changeman, IBM utilities, Endevor, Fileaid, CA- 7, RACF, FTP, NDM, Assembler, PL/1, File Manager, GSAM, Abend Aid, SVN, and Mainframe application development suite.
