The Opportunity

We are recruiting a Software Tech Lead to join our Abbott Heart Failure team in Atlanta, GA, where we are focused on helping people with heart failure manage their health and ultimately change and save lives. The developer will be primarily working on our next generation cross-platform app with releases on Android and iOS platforms. The role is responsible for development on the app via Flutter which interfaces with our cloud-based and external service APIs. The person will also be relied on to champion industry best-practices in software development paradigms, Flutter, review code, mentor junior developers and embody the selfless culture we strive to achieve.

What You'll Work On

Lead Flutter mobile application software developer
Expertise in MVVM, Content management systems (CMS) and interfacing with APIs
Write unit, integration and UI automated tests
Expertise profiling mobile applications for performance including CPU usage and memory leaks
Mentor junior developers
Write technical documentation including but not limited to software detailed design and technical review documents
Plan, estimate and work JIRA stories
Desired skills include expertise in: Flutter, Dart, MVVM, Strapi CMS, Visual Studio Code, Postman, REST APIs
Extensive experience performing peer code reviews
Excellent communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills.

Required Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in computer science or closely related discipline
5+ years developing apps in Flutter
11+ years Software development experience
Experience deploying mobile applications to Google Play (Android) and App Store (iOS)
Expertise in unit/integration testing and mock frameworks for Dart
Proficiency with Flutter Dependency Injection frameworks
Strong knowledge of modern software development processes and methodologies
Ability to work within a team and as a high performing individual contributor and leader in a fast-paced, agile environment
Proficiency with version control systems (Git, GitHub, GitLab, etc.) and collaborative development workflows

Preferred Qualifications

Class III implantable medical device software development experience
CI/CD and SDLC experience
Using AI to help developer productivity
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
