Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special needs? We are looking for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our vibrant team! In this role, you will have the opportunity to create engaging learning experiences and foster a supportive environment for our high school students.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Lesson Plan Development: Craft effective lesson plans tailored to various student levels, ensuring accommodations are in place and collaborating with general education teachers as needed.
  • Supervision of Paraprofessionals: Lead and guide paraprofessionals in the classroom, ensuring a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Implementation of PBIS Program: Manage our Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) program, tracking behavior points and maintaining communication with parents/guardians.
  • Classroom Management: Create a safe and engaging classroom atmosphere, implementing behavior plans and adapting the curriculum to meet diverse needs.
  • IEP Meetings and Documentation: Attend IEP meetings, write updates, and maintain thorough documentation to ensure compliance with state standards and confidentiality regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with staff and outside agencies to provide the best educational experience for each student.
  • Assistive Technology: Support the use of assistive technology to enhance learning opportunities.
  • Instructional Planning: Design learning experiences based on data and conduct assessments to track student progress.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
What We re Looking For:
  • Education & Credentials:
    • Arizona Department of Education Standard Professional Special Education Teaching Certificate (e.g., K-12 Mild/Mod, Cross Cat.) or Special Education Endorsement.
    • Bachelor s degree required; Master s degree in Special Education is strongly recommended.
  • Clearances:
    • DOJ/FBI Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
    • TB Clearance
  • Preferred Skills and Experience:
    • 2-5 years of experience working with students with learning and/or social-emotional needs.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficient in standard software applications and internet use.
Physical Demands:
  • Environment: Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes.
  • Activity: Frequent tasks involving reaching, handling, standing, walking, and lifting items, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Sensory: Ability to perform essential job functions in moderate to high noise levels, with or without assistive devices.
