Join Our Team as a Special Education Teacher!

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special needs? We are looking for a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the upcoming school year in our Elementary Self-Contained program. Plus, enjoy a $2500 Placement Bonus!

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Craft Engaging Lesson Plans: Develop effective lesson plans tailored to accommodate various student levels, ensuring alignment with IEP goals and curriculum standards.
  • Lead and Inspire Paraprofessionals: Supervise and guide paraprofessionals in the classroom, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Implement PBIS Program: Manage our Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) program, tracking behavior points and maintaining communication with parents/guardians.
  • Foster a Safe Learning Environment: Create a classroom atmosphere that prioritizes student engagement and safety, adapting strategies to meet diverse needs.
  • Engage in IEP Meetings: Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Collaborate for Success: Work alongside other staff and external agencies to provide the best educational experience for each student.
  • Utilize Assistive Technology: Support the implementation of assistive technology to enhance learning opportunities.
  • Plan Instruction Effectively: Design learning experiences based on data, conducting assessments in line with IEP goals.
  • Commit to Professional Growth: Participate in ongoing professional development and training to continually enhance your skills.
What We re Looking For:
  • Education & Credentials:
    • Arizona Department of Education Standard Professional Special Education Teaching Certificate (e.g., K-12 Mild/Mod, Cross Cat.) or Special Education Endorsement.
    • Bachelor s degree required; Master s degree in Special Education is strongly recommended.
  • Clearances:
    • DOJ/FBI Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
    • TB Clearance
  • Preferred Skills and Experience:
    • 2-5 years of experience working with students with learning and/or social-emotional needs.
    • Strong communication skills in both written and verbal English.
    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficient in standard software applications and internet usage.
Physical Demands:
  • Environment: Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes.
  • Activity: Frequent tasks such as reaching, handling, standing, walking, and lifting items, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Sensory: Ability to perform essential job functions in moderate to high noise levels, with or without assistive devices.
