An opportunity exists within the Ground & Maritime Defense Radar Software -1 department in Marlborough, MA for a SPY-6 Software Cross Product Team (CPT) Lead - Associate Director, for the SPY-6 DDG Flight III Air and Missile Defense Radar (AMDR) and Flight IIA Backfit radars. The AMDR and Backfit programs will develop, integrate and test software for the Navy's next generation integrated radars as well as support new business initiatives for SPY-6 and the growing Radar Digital Software Product Line (RDPL) franchise.
The Ground & Maritime Defense Radar Software -1 department contributes to the success of Raytheon by providing software solutions throughout the product lifecycles of some of Raytheon's most prominent world class radars. The department is a critical source of support for the RDPL for a variety of new technology initiatives and internal research and development (R&D) efforts.
What You Will Do
The SPY-6 CPT Lead is responsible for driving flawless technical, schedule, and cost performance for AMDR and Backfit working within the RDPL. The CPT Lead manages all software architecture, development and software maintenance activities, coordinating with the Navy and other stakeholders. The CPT Lead is responsible for the execution of AMDR and Backfit Software Development, ensuring all needed functionality is delivered on time and with No Doubt quality.
This role requires direct and frequent collaboration with RDPL Program Leadership, SPY-6(V)1/4 IPTs and CPTs, the PMO, Lockheed Martin leadership and the Navy. Must be able to clearly communicate status, issues and resolutions to executive leadership on matters that significantly impact the program.
As a leader within the SPY-6 Family of Radars (FoR) engineering organization, this person will actively provide leadership, vision, strategy and guidance to ensure that the daily operations of the software organization align with the present long-term goals of Raytheon engineering and Naval Power Capability Systems.
In this strategic role, the CPT Lead brings Agile and DevOps best practices into the RDPL teams, increasing productivity and accelerating delivery of production software. Additionally, this CPT lead will support new innovation technology adoption related to Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence to bring continuous improvement initiatives to the product line and the SW organization.
The role supports the SPY-6 FoR Program Office in future growth through proposal development and the deployment and continual improvement of people, processes and tools. The lead represents the interests of several engineering directorates (SW, Integration & Testing, etc.) on the program and is responsible for managing a team capable of delivering products that include software, algorithms, requirements, simulations, customer briefings, etc.
This full-time onsite position can sit in Marlborough MA or Tewksbury MA.

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics and a minimum of 12 years of experience.
- Experience in Agile software development methodologies and use of Scrum for software development
- Engineering experience to include leadership roles as well as technical and management roles.
- Experience with EVMS to manage program execution
Qualifications We Prefer
- Master of Science in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or related Technical Degree
- Experience in management of large teams with multiple stakeholders
- Demonstrated knowledge of SPY-6 system and sensor software
- Experience with the development and maintenance of Radar Product Line processes
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proactive, comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-tiered environment
- Familiar with DevOps methods
- Proven track record of credibility with Navy customers and associated contractor executives and technical leadership such as Lockheed Martin
- Excellent presentation and proposal skills
- Experienced improvement and efficiency methods aimed at complex problem solving
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
- Experience in IPDS/RLPM and CMMI-5 compliant gate reviews and Tracking Books
- Proposal experience to support large scale strategic growth efforts
