Job Title: Senior Lead Planner
Location: Remote

Role Overview
The Senior Lead Planner sets strategic direction for systems, networks, user services, and vendor development initiatives. This role defines organizational standards, ensures system interoperability, and validates features and functions through rigorous testing. It involves analyzing complex local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, and configuring communication infrastructures. The position also supports hardware/software acquisition and implementation, often serving as a subject matter expert or technical project leader.

The position also supports hardware/software acquisition and implementation, often serving as a subject matter expert or technical project leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the installation and lifecycle management of public and private IP routers and switches across multiple Tier 1 networks.
- Collaborate with technical teams to address operational, architectural, and financial aspects of the IP network.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues such as routing problems, fiber cuts, IP conflicts, and power failures.
- Apply engineering best practices to meet financial goals while maintaining network integrity and protection.
- Develop 3-5 year strategies for network design, deployment, and capacity planning to ensure performance and scalability.
- Integrate technical, organizational, and financial considerations into comprehensive business solutions.
- Identify and resolve systemic gaps in internal processes and applications.
- Operate with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong independent decision-making.
- Champion innovation, new technologies, and process improvements aligned with business priorities.
- Serve as team lead, managing project prioritization, task assignments, and performance reporting.
- Analyze and design complex network systems, including selecting operating systems, protocol suites, and configuring communication media.
Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of routing and switching technologies: OSPF, ISIS, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, and static routing.
- Proven experience managing design, capacity, and redundancy in large-scale IP networks.
- Familiarity with network security protocols including VPNs, DDoS protection, and firewall configurations.
- Some experience with scripting and network automation.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience, or 8+ years with a Master's degree.
