Position Summary

Role and Responsibilities

Samsung Ads, the advertising monetization arm of Samsung Electronics, leverages proprietary real-time TV viewing behavior and insights to promote relevant brands and content experiences to consumers. We partner with brands, agencies and content owners to deliver unique advertising opportunities on native placements within our Smart TV platform and programmatically with a cross device solution.

Samsung's unique first party data help brands connect to their audience as they explore content across desktop, mobile, tablets and our Smart TVs. The Samsung Ad platform delivers high-quality audience targeting powered by three key components: first-party audience data at scale, world-class data science, and brand-safe cross-device ad inventory.

We're looking for an innovative individual to lead Samsung Ads Client Analytics Reporting team leveraging one of the richest TV viewership/media consumption databases in the industry. The purpose of this role is to lead a team of technical analysts that leverage SQL, Python and statistical program languages to perform campaign performance reporting, Client Analytics and develop Data Insight solutions. It requires highly technical skills, strong communication skills and effective stakeholder engagement.

The candidate will be a player-coach who will manage a team of Analysts who are developing query scripts, data cubes and reports on ad campaign performance, viewership trends and new Client Data Insight Solutions powered by Snowflake using SQL and Python.

Candidate must be a team motivator, organized, detailed oriented, flexible and possess ability to establish priorities with minimal guidance in a fast paced environment. The candidate will possess strong stakeholder relationship skills. They are proactive, an analytical problem solver and a strategic thinker who is able to draw conclusions - not just report numbers.

Candidates must have prior managerial, ad campaign performance reporting and data engineering experience with strong SQL and Python skills.

Responsibilities
  • Manage team a team of analysts to produce client reporting and custom analysis.
  • Manage capacity to client work and set priorities across business stakeholders.
  • Strong technical skills on AWS and Big Data - has worked with teams of developers
  • Translate business requirements into SQL queries and Python scripts for Ad Hoc analysis and custom reporting solutions
  • Explore data to identify client ad performance opportunities, trends and anomalies, contribute to new Client Data Insight Solutions through custom analytics and coordinate reporting automation with other internal Product and Engineering teams.
  • Architect data pipelines to connect different data sources
  • Develop and maintain Extract, Transform & Load (ETL) processes
  • Transform and cleanse outputs into meaningful analysis for business/sales teams
  • Tune and optimize current code base and reporting solutions.
  • Oversee documentation


Qualifications
  • 10+ years in a related engineering/analytics work including experience with advertising campaign performance reporting.
  • Strong technical skills on AWS and Big Data - has worked with teams of developers
  • 5+ years managing an analyst team
  • Strong SQL skills 5+ years using SQL
  • Degree in computer science/engineering or quantitative discipline (Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics.)
  • Snowflake or similar platform experience
  • Python experience
  • Big Data and Data/Technology methodology experience
  • Stakeholder engagement experience
  • BI Experience (Domo a plus)
  • Experience with AWS tools such as IAM, Lambda, EC2 and S3.
  • Strong Jira, Confluence, GitHub and other agile development tool experience.

Skills and Qualifications

The salary range for this role is expected to be between $170,000 and $190,000. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
