As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the COMMERCIAL & INVESTMENT BANK, you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams, as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm. As an expert in your field, your insights influence budget and technical considerations to advance operational efficiencies and functionalities.

Job responsibilities
- Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, thinking beyond routine approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code; review and debug code written by others.
- Set up and manage Proofs of Concept (POCs) to evaluate new technologies and methodologies, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements.
- Drive adoption of best practices in software development and AI integration, maintaining high standards of quality, security, and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability of software applications and systems.
- Lead technical designs and collaborate with geographically distributed analysts and developers responsible for the program's software solutions engineering function.
- Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Contribute to a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, 2+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Proficient in coding in one or more object-oriented languages, including Java 17+ with Spring Boot.
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
- Experience building enterprise applications with high availability and performance using Java, Spring, Kafka, EKS, Distributed Cache.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and building solutions on AWS and PySpark, including services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, ELB, ECS, EKS.
- Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Keen interest in staying ahead of modern development trends and experimenting with emerging technologies such as AI and Machine Learning.
- Hands-on experience with Microservices, Data usage patterns, and Event-Driven Architecture (EDA), RAG Frameworks.
- Knowledge of cloud architecture; ability to capture and share best-practice knowledge across teams.
- Ability to back decisions with research and articulate several options with pros and cons.
- Databricks for data engineering a plus skill
