Position Summary

Role and Responsibilities

Samsung has developed a proprietary ad platform that leverages unique first party TV data to help brands connect to their audience as they explore content across desktop, mobile, tablets and our SMART TVs. Additionally, Samsung TV Plus is one of the largest and most quickly growing free, ad-supported TV (FAST) services in the US. The Samsung Ad Platform delivers high-quality audience targeting powered by three key components: a highly engaged streaming video viewer, first-party audience data at scale, and world-class data science.

We are currently looking for a talented account executive focused on growing revenue and building new relationships with performance driven agencies and advertisers in the Mobile Space. Performance Sales is one of Samsung Ads' fastest growing customer categories and is inclusive of many national and regional advertisers- many are brand new to the medium. The ideal candidate should have a passion for mobile advertising, expertise in data driven audience activation, and a pulse on new multi-channel advertising technologies. This individual must be able to think strategically, anticipate how buying decisions are made, uncover the business needs of key clients and have a proven ability to close deals. Additionally, this sales executive will be the consummate team-player and have the ability to work collaboratively across the sales organization within a fluid and fast-paced environment.

This individual should have existing relationships across performance, direct response, and direct-to-consumer teams including key senior level contacts at agencies and brands. This account executive must be able to think strategically, anticipate how buying decisions are made, uncover the business needs of key clients, and have a proven ability to drive spend through Programmatic Guaranteed (PG), Private Marketplace (PMP), and Insertion Order (IO) buy types. This position will carry an annual revenue goal.

This Performance Seller position is based in New York with domestic US travel as needed, occasional visits to the product/engineering offices in Montreal, Canada and Mountain View, CA. You will report to our Performance Sales Lead. If you're interested in joining a rapidly growing team working to build a unique, world-class advertising sales organization with a relentless focus on data and customer experience, you've come to the right place.

As an individual contributor, you'll be supported by our world class ad operations team and will benefit from working with a leadership team that is chartering our explosive growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Actively drive revenue from performance advertisers and agencies to Samsung Ads mobile ad products across native and video (TV Plus)
  • Gather market intelligence from Performance Sales clients and share into the broader cross-functional organization - including HQ Mobile Ads teams - inclusive of trends and best practices to ensure continued innovation to meet changing marketplace needs (e.g. identity needs, inventory value)
  • Accurately forecast revenue, identify irregularities, and seek out opportunities for growth with competitive insight across assigned book of business
  • Actively communicate any meaningful product updates for Samsung Ads mobile ad products to assigned clients and return feedback to the organization on potential implications to each client's business with Samsung
  • Collaborate with other members of the Performance Sales team as needed to help sell-through mobile ad products to as many Performance advertisers and agencies as possible
  • Build strong relationships with assigned performance advertisers and agencies
  • Develop a deep technical understanding of the Samsung Ads mobile platform, capabilities, and unique inventory (including Samsung TV Plus, Samsung News, and Samsung Game Launcher)
  • Continuously provide value to customers and serve as a trusted consultant to drive mobile advertising growth with Samsung Ads

Required Experience:
  • Deep understanding of the mobile media ecosystem
  • 7+ years of industry or relatable experience with a significant portion spent working at a mobile app publisher or SSP
  • Proven track record of securing and growing spend from advertisers and agencies via all buy types: Programmatic Guaranteed (PG), Private Marketplace (PMP), and Insertion Order (IO)
  • Successful internal and external relationship management
  • Experience working in both entrepreneurial and established corporate cultures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and good follow-through
  • Talent at explaining complex topics in simple terms in person, over the phone or video conference
  • Bachelor's Degree; MBA or other advanced degree a plus

Preferred Experience
  • Experience in the performance, direct response, and direct-to-consumer space
