Job Summary

The Data Solutions & Instrumentation (DSI) team within the Product Management organization is seeking a polished & experienced Sr Product Manager to oversee the implementation of a mature set of measurement solutions within the Sports portfolio of digital products. In this role you'll partner with our Sports Product team and global set of analytics stakeholders to ensure the data we're collecting reflects the evolving set of reporting needs and provides insight into our fan's user-journey. This role will be predominantly focused on ensuring the core ESPN & ESPN+ experiences across the broad array of connected device platforms we support (e.g. Fire TV, Roku, tvOS, Xbox, PlayStation, & many more) have extensive and stable instrumentation coverage across all application functionality - including browse, search, playback, & commerce.

While the DSI team takes a roadmap driven product-oriented approach to supporting our measurement solutions, roles within this team are extremely technical as you partner with our Consumer Software Engineering (CSE) teams to implement requirements and support our Quality Assurance teams through the validation process. The health, stability & evolution of the implementation of Adobe Analytics, Comscore, Nielsen and others is critical to the ESPN business and this role within the DSI team is vital to that success.

Responsibilities:
  • Gather measurement requirements from a broad range of cross-functional stakeholders (ESPN Research, Sports Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Ad Sales, Editorial & more), translate them into technical solution design artifacts & partner with our Consumer Software Engineering (CSE) team on the implementation across our portfolio of connected TV device applications.
  • Perform the Administrator role within Adobe Analytics, inclusive of Report Suite architecture, Processing Rule maintenance, Dimension management, Marketing Channel oversight & all components of Analysis Workspace Project report development.
  • Develop and maintain a set of world-class documentation that serve the needs of our technical implementation partners, dependent downstream teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Triage and provide solutions for a consistent flow of questions, requests & challenges from the global stakeholder community.
  • Build strong relationships with our Account Managers and Solution Architects at Adobe, Comscore & Nielsen to ensure consistently smooth implementation certification processes and tight alignment on their evolving solutions & SDKs.
  • Drive schema and operational consistency across the DSI team beyond the core Sports Product vertical you'll support, gaining exposure to Disney+, Hulu, ABC, ABC News, Marvel, National Geographic & more.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field require
  • Minimum of 5 years of product management experience or similar role architecting enterprise digital measurement solutions or customer data platforms.
  • Proven track record partnering with Engineering teams to implement digital measurement solutions.
  • Polished communicator comfortable translating stakeholder needs into well-documented technical specifications.
  • Ability to review analytics implementation accuracy using Charles, Fiddler, or similar HTTP debugging proxy.
  • Strong understanding of Comscore (Multi-Platform Video Measurement, Total Digital, etc.) or Nielsen's (Digital Content Ratings, Digital in TV Ratings, Nielsen ONE, etc.) digital measurement products.
  • Expert handle on the rapidly evolving product analytics space.
  • Demonstrable analytical & problem-solving skills with ability to balance various priorities.
  • High-level of comfort building a roadmap and working within an agile, Jira-driven operating model

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in computer science, information systems, software, or data science
  • Experience in Product, Engineering or Solutions Architecture at industry leading product analytics or customer data platform organization

The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA and Bristol, CT is $136,038 to $182,490 per year, in San Francisco it is $148,994 to $199,870 and in NYC and Seattle is $142,516 to $191,180 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
