Team Overview | PMO for all programs/projects related to backend systems, including corporate systems, global, b2b, and supply chain (merchandising, inventory, order management, and logistics). This role will specifically align to pull-forward projects. |
Project Description | Client is looking for an experienced Sr Project Management professional to deliver complex, large-scale enterprise application/solutions within a retail environment. This Sr Project Manager will directly manage their assigned projects to identify and report alerts and by keeping project data in all systems up to date. Sr PM will keep their domain lead (PgMs) abreast of issues with a good handshake (by keeping PMO data up-to-date via PMO reports) and as they directly address alerts in their projects with relevant leaders. This Sr Project Manager will be challenged to perform in a fast paced environment with many moving parts responsible for managing multiple enterprise application/software and complex integrations projects that have a direct impact on company revenue and growth. This role requires strong communication skills, diplomacy and an even temperament to manage technical scope closely with cross functional teams and technical leads with stakeholder interests in mind. |
Duties/Day to Day Overview | - Project Plan
- Detailed Project/flight Plan and project scope
- Keeping a detailed project plan very up-to-date for all projects
- Proactive at driving results at the project-level
- Able to articulate project scope and details of their project when asked (i.e. how many epics and stories make up your project and by which team, etc.)
- Planning ahead for expected dependencies and working through those proactively
- Project Schedule & Status Reporting
- Project Schedule should show the high-level program/project picture and the breakdown of work/epics
- Includes Status Reporting and keeping the project dashboard updated and current
- Proactively escalates any issues keeping Sr Manger informed of any risk
- Project Budget / Forecast
- Tight on the spend forecast across projects/epics
- Based on detailed project schedule, minding the quality of the dependencies
- Partner with Finance team.
- Leadership, Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Partnership with Delivery/Engineering, Product partners to drive project forward
- Conduct productive meetings; clear agenda for meetings, correct level of conversation for corresponding audience
- Holding colleagues/partners accountable and driving results
- Proactively raises escalations to Leadership, drives resolution
- Vendor Management if/as applicable
- Work independently with driving work forward with minimal oversight

Top Requirements (Must haves) | - 10+ years of experience in Project Management, with experience managing large, highly visible software and application development projects
- Retail experience is required these are application development projects within supply chain domain, related to merchandising systems, order management, and retail concepts like pricing, promotions, purchase orders, etc.
- Full-funnel/cross domain experience is expected (understanding how the backend influences the front end/ecommerce experience)
- Ability to be hands on partnering with stakeholders to create a detailed project plan, break program into multiple tracks, manage different work streams, and manage those tracks of work as needed, as well as manage risk/budget/resources and partner with other leaders on prioritization.
- Strategically partner with delivery leaders on prioritization and program delivery

Additional Qualifications | - A strong Project Manager that is involved in all PM responsibilities and PM fundamentals from detailed project plans, budget, scope, resource and timeline management, status reports, risk and issue logs and management, deployment planning
- Strong Project management experience with a proven track record of working cross functionally
- Clear, precise communication is a must for this role as she would be speaking to VPs and above in steering committee meetings and other settings.
- Demonstrated SDLC project experience with experience working in an Agile environment is required
- Should be able to excel in a fast paced environment, deal with and be able to steer team in ambiguous situations.
- Need a strong, edge of your seat, engaging personality type person
- Bachelor s Degree, preferably with a technical focus
