Job Details
Sr SQL SERVER DBA
- 12-24 + month contract and longer possible
- Relocation required to Ann Arbor, MI area. This is a hybrid role ( 2 days in office ).
- IMMEDIATE need
- Any valid Visa is acceptable
- Client is a very large ecommerce retail company with huge high availability databases. You will be part of the production support team
- L3 or L4 Level skills on SQL Server
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field with at least 8 years of SQL DBA experience
- Strong experience in SQL Server administration and production support at a L3/L4 level in a high availability complex AAG cluster ( 3-4 node ) environment
- Experience in analysis, capacity planning, designing, and configuration of SQL database systems
- Set up & manage SQL Server Always ON Availability Groups (AAG)
- Strong experience in performance tuning
- Set up monitoring and alerting of SQL databases
- Build and automate database maintenance jobs (Ex: backups, index maintenance, update stats, check db )
Nice to have
- Some level of exposure to any one of these no-sql platforms Couchbase, Cosmos DB, Mongo DB
- Some level of exposure to architecting / building containerized database solutions
- Azure cloud
