Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to oversee and manage enterprise-level Windows servers and Azure cloud environments. This long-term contract position is based in Chicago, IL, and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a hybrid IT infrastructure by ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system maintenance, cloud services, and network configurations.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the administration and maintenance of Windows Server environments, including tasks such as Active Directory management, Group Policy configuration, and system updates.
Manage and optimize Azure infrastructure components, including virtual machines, storage accounts, and networking configurations.
Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Domain Name System (DNS) services across hybrid environments.
Monitor system health and performance, taking proactive measures to resolve issues and minimize downtime.
Implement robust security practices, including identity management, access control, and patching protocols.
Develop and execute automation scripts using PowerShell and Azure tools to streamline operations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as network and security groups, to ensure seamless system integration and compliance.
Maintain and test backup systems, disaster recovery protocols, and business continuity plans for both on-premises and cloud environments.
Participate in the planning and execution of system upgrades, migrations, and cloud adoption initiatives.
Provide advanced technical support for escalated issues and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations and procedures.
Requirements
Proven expertise in managing Active Directory and Group Policy within enterprise environments.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Windows 10 operating systems.
Hands-on experience with Dell Technologies and Citrix solutions.
Proficiency in Azure cloud services, including virtual machines, storage, and networking.
Skilled in scripting and automation using PowerShell and Azure tools.
Familiarity with DNS configurations and troubleshooting in hybrid setups.
Solid understanding of security best practices, including access control and identity management.
Ability to manage backup solutions and disaster recovery plans effectively.
