Project Overview:


We are embarking on a strategic initiative to migrate our existing monolithic SAP Commerce Cloud storefront to a composable, headless architecture using Angular and modern frontend technologies. To support this transformation, we are seeking a seasoned consultant with deep experience in Angular, SAP Commerce Cloud, and composable commerce principles to act as a technical lead on this project.


Role Summary:


As the Technical Lead Consultant, you will guide our internal teams through the conversion process - from design and tooling setup to implementation and go-live. This role combines technical leadership, mentorship/training, and hands-on development. You'll work closely with internal developers, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure a smooth and successful transition.


Key Responsibilities:




  • Lead the technical planning and execution of the migration to a composable Angular-based storefront.




  • Provide expert guidance on architecture, design patterns, and best practices for headless commerce.




  • Collaborate with backend and SAP teams to define APIs, data flows, and integration points.




  • Serve as a mentor to internal developers, providing training, code reviews, and support on Angular and composable architecture.




  • Conduct technical workshops and documentation sessions with the internal team.




  • Ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability in the new storefront design.




  • Troubleshoot complex issues and advise on tooling and platform decisions (e.g., CMS, PIM, search).




Required Skills & Experience:




  • 7+ years of front-end development experience with at least 3 years in Angular (v10+ preferred).




  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris), including storefront customization and integrations.




  • Deep understanding of composable commerce principles and headless architecture (including Commerce Cloud OCC services).




  • Experience with Spartacus or similar Angular-based headless storefronts.




  • Proven ability to lead migrations from monolithic to decoupled architectures.




  • Experience mentoring developers and leading technical initiatives.




  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a consulting role.




Preferred Skills:




  • Familiarity with GraphQL, headless CMS (e.g., Contentful, Sanity), and microservices-based backend systems.




  • Exposure to MACH architecture (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, Headless).




  • Experience in CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS/Google Cloud Platform/Azure).




  • SAP Commerce Cloud certification is a plus.
