Position: Sr. Azure Engineer / Azure Administrator

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Azure Engineer / Azure Administrator with deep expertise in managing, securing, and optimizing enterprise-grade Azure environments. The ideal candidate will focus primarily on Azure Infrastructure, Identity, Security, Governance, and Automation, while supporting basic Microsoft 365 identity/security integrations when required.

Key Responsibilities

Azure Administration & Engineering (Primary Focus 85%)

• Design, implement, and manage Azure IaaS & PaaS workloads including Virtual Machines, App Services, Storage Accounts, AKS (optional), and Databases.
• Administer and optimize Azure Virtual Networks, Subnets, NSGs, ASGs, Load Balancers, VPN Gateways, and ExpressRoute.
• Manage Azure Identity & Access using Azure AD, Conditional Access, Identity Protection, and Privileged Identity Management (PIM).
• Implement Azure Governance using Management Groups, RBAC, Azure Policy, Blueprints, Tags, and Cost Management tools.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Azure resources using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Sentinel (optional), and Workbooks.
• Implement Backup & Disaster Recovery solutions using Azure Backup, Site Recovery, and cross-region failover strategies.
• Automate provisioning and operations using PowerShell, ARM Templates, or Bicep.
• Troubleshoot issues related to Azure infrastructure, networking, performance, and connectivity.
• Ensure security, compliance, scalability, and high availability of Azure workloads.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Application teams for seamless cloud operations and secure deployments.

Microsoft 365 (Supporting 15%)

• Manage Azure AD components related to Microsoft 365 identity like MFA, Conditional Access, SSPR, and Identity Governance.
• Support security configurations for M365 workloads (Defender for Cloud Apps, DLP, and Purview policies) only as they relate to Azure AD identity & security.
• Assist with basic M365 troubleshooting related to Azure AD authentication, access, and compliance policies.

Technical Skills

Mandatory

• Strong hands-on experience in Azure Administration, Azure AD, Identity Management, and Azure Networking.
• Expertise in Azure AD P1/P2 features MFA, Conditional Access, PIM, PAM, Access Reviews, SSPR, Identity Protection.
• Solid understanding of Azure governance, RBAC, policies, and subscription management.
• Proficiency in automation using PowerShell and familiarity with IaC (ARM/Bicep).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Defender components related to Azure identity & cloud security.
• Understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change).

Preferred

• Experience with Azure Automation, Azure Functions, Logic Apps.
• Knowledge of Hybrid Identity using AAD Connect.
• Exposure to Sentinel, Defender for Cloud, E5 security features.
• Certifications AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-500 preferred.
