The Business Analyst (BA) position at the works on multiple projects that support the mission of the agency of improving outcomes for Texas students, with a focus on the early childhood integrated data system project. This position performs advanced, senior-level business analysis work as well as user experience design work to ensure a positive and productive end user experience. The position will ensure design decisions are grounded in user experience and research and adhere to agency-wide design standards and industry-wide best practices and will partner with the product team and other key stakeholders on design solutions. The business analyst serves as the conduit between the program/customer community and the software development team through which requirements flow. This BA will be involved at some level throughout the entire software development life cycle. Upon establishment of the requirements baseline, the focus is shifted towards the management of the requirements specification and verifying the fulfillment of all requirements, including requirements for enhancements post-implementation.

8+ years of experience eliciting requirements from customer interviews and documenting system requirements.

8+ years of experience working within various Software Development Life Cycles (SDLCs).

8+ years of experience in business process re-engineering and software process flow improvement.

8+ years of experience developing user stories and use cases aligned with industry best practices.

8+ years of experience creating mockups and/or wireframes that adhere to UX best practices.

5+ years of strong communication and facilitation skills in cross-functional teams.

5+ years of demonstrated organizational and professional writing skills.

3+ years of experience using "Modern Requirements" or similar requirements management software.

3+ years of experience using "Atlassian Jira" for issue tracking and project management.

2+ years of experience working with or for TEA (Texas Education Agency) or other state/local education agencies.

1+ year of experience supporting or working on the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) program.
