Job Title: Senior Data Architect
Location: On-site Grapevine, Texas (USHealth Group Office)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-level data solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise in data architecture, pipeline development, and cloud data platforms, particularly WhereScape RED and Snowflake. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data warehousing, leadership, and stakeholder engagement, particularly within the U.S. healthcare industry.
Required Qualifications:
- The candidate must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in data architecture and enterprise data warehousing, including dimensional modeling, star schema design, and data engineering implementation.
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with WhereScape RED is required, including data pipeline design and implementation, data integration, orchestration, and automation.
- Experience with change data capture (CDC), data ingestion from on-premise and cloud sources, and working with both structured and semi-structured data is essential.
- The candidate must be proficient in scripting using Pebble and Windows PowerShell, and have a strong track record in production support and issue resolution.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with the Snowflake Data Cloud platform is required, including account setup and administration, database and schema design, and virtual warehouse configuration.
- The candidate must have expertise in Snowflake performance tuning, security configuration, access control, data governance, data sharing, and resource monitoring.
- Proficiency in batch and streaming data loading, writing stored procedures, and working with DDL/DML operations is essential.
- The role requires the ability to lead weekly in-person sessions with stakeholders and subject matter experts at the USHealth Group office in Grapevine, Texas.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in the U.S. health insurance or healthcare industry is highly desirable.
- The candidate should have demonstrated leadership in managing data teams and direct reports, including mentoring and developing team members.
- Experience conducting healthcare data assessments, defining data strategies, and identifying opportunities that align business value with data-driven outcomes is preferred.
- A strong understanding of U.S. data privacy laws and ethical considerations related to data collection, storage, and processing is highly valued.
- Experience leading projects using Agile methodologies, including planning, execution, and progress tracking, is a plus.
- Familiarity with project management tools and best practices is preferred.
- The candidate should have experience mentoring internal technical teams on development standards, code reviews, testing practices, troubleshooting, and production incident resolution.
