What's the role?
We are looking for a hard-working Senior DevOps Engineer who will focus on building a strong partnership between the engineering and risk management teams. In this role on the Actuarial Software Engineering team, you will primarily be responsible for moving applications through risk assessments, partnering with applications teams to gather evidence of controls and applying established control patterns. To excel in the role, you will combine knowledge of devops patterns across application and data platforms (Mainframe, Windows, Linux, Docker, AWS) with risk engineering practices (access management, data controls, secure deploys, logging and monitoring) to ensure the teams have effectively identified, mitigated, and documented risks in their software solutions.

Geographic Specific Pay Structure:
205 - Structure 110: 102,060.00 USD - 189,540.00 USD
205 - Structure 115: 106,680.00 USD - 198,120.00 USD

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Own and drive risk assessments for applications moving through the SDLC
- Work with app teams to gather control evidence and apply risk/control patterns
- Assist development teams to apply build, quality scan, test and deploy automation patterns in Gitlab CI pipelines.
- Design and build patterns of automation for CI/CD, infrastructure deployment, maintenance, monitoring, security and compliance aligned to enterprise standards.
- Solve complex technical issues and enable/teach peers to be self sufficient
- Provide thought leadership throughout the local work division
- Partner with other enterprise teams on emerging best practices, patterns and technology.
- Proactively learn emerging patterns, cloud services and related technology
Bring your best! What this role needs:
- Proven Experience in Risk Assessments and applying security control patterns within Business environments (Preferred)
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience 4-5 years
- 4 years of professional IT experience 4 years experience with at least one OS/hosting platform (i.e. Linux, Windows, AWS, Kube)
- 2 year's experience with integration of n-tier applications (i.e. DNS, HTTP, SSL, Encryption, Authentication)
- 2 years experience with CI/CD concepts and tools (GitLab CI, secure service automation, secret management, testing concepts, blue/green)
- 2 years experience with infrastructure automation tools or coding/scripting (Terraform, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell)
- Creative problem-solving skills to adapt standard CI/CD patterns and security practices for transitioning legacy applications.
- Strong communication skills
