Sr. Geotechnical Engineer
18 month contract

Role Summary/Purpose:
This position contributes to the team responsible for the Civil / Structural geotechnical engineer of New Nuclear Power Plants. The Civil / Structural Senior geotechnical Engineer will perform activities within a team environment, working with a global team of partner organizations and suppliers to advance new plant detailed design and successfully deliver NPP projects
Essential Responsibilities
The candidate must have demonstrated experience with the following:
- Experience in geotechnical earthquake engineering
- Perform rock characterization and seismic evaluation of new Nuclear Power Plant (NPP)
- Perform earthquake engineering analysis for new NPP such as liquefaction triggering and settlement analysis, site response analysis, site characterization
- Perform site response analysis and site characterization analysis for new NPP
- Develop engineering reports and licensing documentation.
- Interface with internal and external customers, suppliers, partners, the NRC and international regulatory authorities on technical issues.
- Incorporate design requirements into analyses and design documents
- Serve as the technical expert, providing consultation on system design, design bases, and interfaces to other engineering disciplines
- Work within a team environment to execute work plans and schedules as applicable for mission success.
- Perform work in compliance with policies and procedures
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Science, or higher, in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in an engineering position
- Plant Nuclear Island structural analysis experience, specifically Containment & Reactor
- Building design
- Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant Systems Design
- Expert knowledge of relevant design codes and requirements
- Knowledge of SASSI Seismic Soil-Structure-Interaction computer software
