Job Details

Title: Sr. Manufacturing Engineer (RF/Microwave/SSPA Products)

Location: onsite in Camarillo, CA

Length of Contract: 9 months

O.T. Not anticipated - typical M-F and need to be mindful of not exceed 8 hours in a day

Scope: This client is working on satellite payload RF units for the major Satellite OEMs (their end customers)

Their Manufacturing/ Production team has been missing a leader, and they need external support in order to help get through all the daily manufacturing and ensuring they are meeting deadlines already set since production is a holding point & bottleneck.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be a leader as a Manufacturing Engineering representative on Integrated Product Team for multiple projects
  • Evaluate tooling and fixturing needs for new products and repeat orders.
  • Ensure needed items are in place in time to begin production
  • Create shop floor travelers for items on assigned projects
  • Prepare Manufacturing Readiness Review package and present to internal team and customers
  • Review designs for manufacturability within the context of Integrated Product Team
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing difficulties, using lean manufacturing tools. Resolve quickly to resume production
  • Work strategic process improvement projects as background. Able to keep projects moving in the background along with time-critical tactical tasks

MUSTs:

  • BS in engineering or closely related field
  • A minimum of 4 years of related experience in Operations for RF/Microwave products
  • Knowledge of Fishbone Diagram, 5 Whys, 8D and other lean tools.
  • Understanding of AS9100 quality requirements for RF products
  • Able to manage time commitments of > 1 month
  • SSPA (Solid State Power Amplifier)

PLUS:

  • Experience with military and/or satellite hardware preferred
  • Thin film chip & wire manufacturing materials & processes, including materials and processes for hermetic assembly
  • Printed circuit assembly manufacturing materials & processes
  • Solid State Power Amplifier SSPA experience for RF components or applications
