Department Marketing Statement:
This is a highly responsible senior-level opportunity for an ERP Systems (IT)Specialist with expertise in Oracle Fusion Cloud and PeopleSoft . The role involves requirement gathering, solution design, configuration, system integration, implementation, support, and maintenance activities, as well as user training. The desired candidate will have comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of ERP systems along with strong leadership skills to support successful implementation and ongoing management related to HCM, Payroll, and Time and Labor modules.
As such, emphasis will be placed on candidates with demonstrated experience in planning, coordinating, designing, and implementing ERP applications for large transit organizations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelors Degree in Management Information Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, Business or Public Administration. A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible technical experience in, and knowledge of diversified technical level information systems and data processing management in a large organization. An additional four (4) or more years of technical experience with the PeopleSoft ERP system.
OR, an equivalent combination of post-high school education and nine (9) years of progressively responsible technical experience in and knowledge of diversified technical level information systems and data processing management in a large organization. An additional four (4) or more years of technical experience with the PeopleSoft ERP system.
AND: Thorough functional knowledge of four or more PeopleSoft modules (e.g., HR, Payroll, eRecruit, Benefits, GL, A/P, A/R, Projects, Commitment Control, EPM, etc) and experienced with foundation table setup and configuration experience with for three or more new installations or major upgrades.
OR: Thorough functional knowledge of two or more PeopleSoft modules (e.g., HR, Payroll, eRecruit, Benefits, GL, A/P, A/R, Projects, Commitment Control, EPM, etc) and technically skilled in People Tools, Peoplecode, SQL, SQR, Queries, and Crystal Reports and technically skilled in Application Engine and Integration Broker or an equivalent combination of these skills.
Medical Group:
Satisfactorily complete the medical examination for this position, if required. The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of this position either with or without reasonable accommodations.
Job Summary/Duties:
This incumbent in this position provides technical and/or function support for WMATAs information technology applications and systems. The incumbent must have in-depth knowledge of the features of the Peoplesoft ERP system related to the development, implementation, integration, customization and maintenance of the various modules used at WMATA. The incumbent implements IT project activities in accordance with the Authoritys IT Strategic Plan, and evaluates, and develops system architecture and functions across the Authority for potential automation. The incumbent has extensive latitude for independent judgment and action within general guidelines provided by the Program Manager. The incumbent provides applications support to users, which involves answering questions on function and usage of products, investigating, managing, tracking and resolving support issues related to the database and functions of the application(s), provide training to users, assist in the application of maintenance pack/tax releases/upgrades to the systems.
Leads in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and support of complex enterprise projects.
Leads in the coordination of transition of all new software releases.
Interface with other offices to ensure commitment to supporting or using the Authoritys integrated systems. Consults with and informs user departments of system requirements, operating difficulties and problem resolution, and future enhancements and modifications.
Proficient in problem resolution related to system design and implementation, review and recommend approval of functional and technical design documents, implements systems, program enhancements and modification of assigned applications.
Leads in problem resolution related to system design and implementation reviews and recommends approval of functional and technical design documents. Assists in the preparation of scope of work, project proposals, or requests for proposals to buy, revise, or design, and install application systems.
Represent IT at meetings and conferences with consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders of assigned systems.
Ensures project life-cycle is in compliance with WMATA standards and procedures.
Analyzes, evaluates, and approves system changes to determine feasibility, alternative solutions, and back out procedures.
Works on the development-to-production of new systems and enhancements to existing systems, and ensures they are in compliance with approved standards.
Prepares and presents reports and recommendations within the areas of assigned responsibility as may be appropriate.
