Job Summary

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology (DEET) is seeking a Sr. Product Operations Manager to help enable and scale the product organization. This role will be a critical part of the data platforms product team focused on developing tools supporting Disney's direct-to-consumer streaming platforms including ESPN+, Disney+, and Hulu. This role will help develop and optimize the process for product delivery, support new product releases, enable stakeholders & end users, gather product feedback & customer satisfaction metrics, and support communication of product strategy, status, and roadmap.

This role will report to the VP, Data Platforms Product Management, and will work with and support multiple product delivery teams in the development and release of datasets and tools that enable analysis, activation, and governance of data for marketing, ad sales, consumer product development, personalization, experimentation, data science, and more. This is a highly collaborative role with exposure to leadership across the Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology organization. Excellent communication, creative problem solving, and a proactive drive and willingness to seek out opportunities to add value and improve current state process and documentation will be key to success in this role.

Responsibilities:
  • Help manage and optimize processes and tracking mechanisms to support data product development.
  • Configure and manage tools for product delivery and process management, roadmap management, resource allocation, utilization tracking, etc.
  • Partner with Data Product Managers to support stakeholder requirement gathering, develop documentation and presentations, design and develop mechanisms for collecting product usage statistics and stakeholder feedback, etc.
  • Support user acceptance testing and product requirement validation
  • Enable and support stakeholders with product documentation, training, access management, and intake process.
  • Support development and distribution of release notifications, updates, etc.
  • Partner with product managers on business readiness activities, including product planning, sequencing, testing, user education, rollout, iteration, and support.
  • Fill in gaps across roles and functions as needed, performing as an adaptive problem solver
  • Champion a collaborative work environment that cultivates shared understanding, transparency, autonomy, innovation, and continuous learning

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years in a product, operations, program management, or similar role with experience supporting technical product development.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
  • Experience supporting highly complex projects across multiple functions & teams.
  • Understanding of data technology and product and program management in software development.
  • Highly analytical and collaborative qualities with strong technical, strategic, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and make informed decisions in ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to lead through influence across functional and organizational lines.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced operational environment where change is the norm.
  • Experience presenting to and working with senior executive leaders.
  • Excellent written communication skills with experience creating documents and presentations for executive audiences.
  • Knowledge of Agile/SDLC project management methodologies

Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in a data engineering or similar product delivery group.
  • Strong experience with collaboration and project management tools (Jira, Airtable, Confluence, Productboard, etc.)
  • Strong experience and ability with Powerpoint/Keynote/Google Slides/etc.

#DISNEYTECH

The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is $124,000 to $166,200 per year, in New York, NY & Seattle, WA is $129,900 to $174,100 per year, and in San Francisco, CA is $135,800 to $182,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
