Job Summary

Job Description

The IT Sr. Scrum Master role requires extensive experience leading large projects and programs within complex, fast-paced organizations, utilizing various delivery models (Scrum, Essential SAFe, Kanban). Candidates should possess exceptional communication skills and be adept at partnering with internal business sponsors at an executive level. The Sr Scrum Master should ensure the team is agile by clearing obstacles, establishing an environment where the team can be effective, addressing team dynamics and coaching/mentoring, ensuring a good relationship between the team and product owner, as well as others outside the team and protecting the team from outside interruptions and distractions. The Sr. Scrum Master will contribute to the delivery of significant data and analytics initiatives, supporting the director in optimizing delivery methods to enhance value and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Scrum meetings across multiple scrum squads. This includes daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, scrum of scrum PI Planning, and team retrospective ceremonies. Lead agile release trains in the absence of an RTE.
  • Promote Team collaboration, track and communicate team velocity, burndown, and sprint progress.
  • Communicate project status, squad metrics, and risks to leadership. Manage dependencies across multiple teams and some functions not always expected of a standard Scrum Master.
  • Support the product owner by maintaining the Scrum/Kanban board and assist in dependency management and cross team coordination. Build executive level reporting tools and dashboards integrating JIRA.
  • Coach and mentor the scrum team and partner with Product Owners and team members to practice healthy backlog management and prioritization practices. Focus delivery on the customer value stream and program/project goals as they align with business goals.
  • Participate proactively in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices
  • Support the Product Team by mentoring the product owners and team members in agile practices, facilitating continuous improvement and the development of a learning culture on teams and facilitating conflict resolution and removing team impediments.


Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Domain Knowledge preferred
    • Experience in managing data and analytics projects, including data warehousing, data integration, and business intelligence.
    • High level understanding of data analytics tools and platforms
    • Understanding of data governance, data quality, and data security principles
  • Essential SAFe experience, executing PI Planning sessions.
  • At least 5 years of direct work experience at the enterprise level. This would include working with Agile/Scrum delivery as well as exposure to SAFe.
  • Scrum Master Certification. Essential SAFe experience (PI Planning, ART) preferred
  • 8-12+ years of direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software, including MS Office and Jira.
  • Demonstrated experience in personnel management.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$110,240.00 - $165,360.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
