Job Details
Resource 1 is in need of a Sr. Windows System Administrator for a 3-month remote contract. This role focuses on administration and support, with limited engineering responsibilities. Will support a 600-user environment, working primarily with Windows servers (2019/2014/2012) and occasionally with Linux servers. Some off-hours support may be required as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Center/ Server Administration & Support:
- Manage and maintain Windows Server operating systems across a virtualized environment (Hyper-V).
- Administer servers across data centers and remote sites (Ohio, Georgia, Azure).
- Ensure server uptime and resolve system-related issues.
- Perform patching and server management tasks for approximately 80 servers in Ohio, 20 servers in Georgia, and 4 Azure-hosted servers.
- Microsoft 365 Tenant Administration:
- Provide user provisioning and support for Microsoft 365 applications, including Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, and Office.
- Resolve tickets and address issues stemming from recent migrations.
- Azure Platform Administration:
- Monitor and maintain Azure-based services, including Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure DevOps, virtual machines, and Platform as a Service (PaaS) components.
- Handle occasional user access requests for Azure systems.
- General Support Tasks:
- Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure stability and continuity across systems.
- Provide endpoint management support as needed, utilizing tools like Intune and SCCM for device compliance, patching, and software deployment.
Qualifications:
- Required Skills:
- Strong experience in Windows Server administration and virtualization technologies (Hyper-V).
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 tenant administration, including Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, and Office applications.
- Exposure to Azure Platform as a Service (PaaS) environments, including monitoring and maintaining services like Azure Data Factory and Azure DevOps.
- Nice to Have:
- Experience with endpoint management tools like Intune and SCCM for patching and software deployment.
Soft Skills:
- Practical and hands-on approach to troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Self-sufficient with the ability to hit the ground running from day one.
- Process-oriented yet pragmatic, with a focus on stability and continuity.
