Who We Are:

SiriusXM and its brands (Pandora, SiriusXM Media, AdsWizz, Simplecast, and SiriusXM Connected Vehicle Services) are leading a new era of audio entertainment and services by delivering the most compelling subscription and ad-supported audio entertainment experience for listeners -- in the car, at home, and anywhere on the go with connected devices. Our vision is to shape the future of audio, where everyone can be effortlessly connected to the voices, stories and music they love wherever they are.

This is the place where a diverse group of emerging talent and legends alike come to share authentic and purposeful songs, stories, sounds and insights through some of the best programming and technology in the world. Our critically-acclaimed, industry-leading audio entertainment encompasses music, sports, comedy, news, talk, live events, and podcasting. No matter their individual role, each of our employees plays a vital part in bringing SiriusXM's vision to life every day.

SiriusXM is the leading audio entertainment company in North America, and the premier programmer and platform for subscription and digital advertising-supported audio products. SiriusXM's platforms collectively reach approximately 150 million listeners, the largest digital audio audience across paid and free tiers in North America, and deliver music, sports, talk, news, comedy, entertainment and podcasts. Pandora, a subsidiary of SiriusXM, is the largest ad-supported audio entertainment streaming service in the U.S. SiriusXM's subsidiaries Simplecast and AdsWizz make it a leader in podcast hosting, production, distribution, analytics and monetization. The Company's advertising sales organization, which operates as SiriusXM Media, leverages its scale, cross-platform sales organization and ad tech capabilities to deliver results for audio creators and advertisers. SiriusXM, through Sirius XM Canada Holdings, Inc., also offers satellite radio and audio entertainment in Canada. In addition to its audio entertainment businesses, SiriusXM offers connected vehicle services to automakers.

How you'll make an impact:

As a Staff Product Designer on Programming & Tooling, you will collaborate with an inspiring team of designers and cross-functional partners to craft intuitive experiences for our contentcreators and programmers across internal and external facing SiriusXM and Pandora products. This role will engage with our internal and external teams to understand user needs, drive strategy, create vision, and design experiences that unlock potential and success for our users and the business.

What you'll do:
  • Develop a nuanced understanding of SiriusXM's business goals as well as the needs and perspectives of our content creators and programmers
  • Translate those goals and needs into a creative vision, hypotheses, and experiments - realized by elegant, actionable, and effective design solutions via sketches, wireframes, user flows, prototypes, visual mocks, and interaction specs
  • Collaborate with org-wide cross-functional partners to define, build a shared understanding around, implement, and measure the impact of our designs
  • Owns design discovery and delivery for multiple product areas or a very large, complex area with minimal oversight
  • Presents cross-functionally to achieve alignment and final approval, including at the senior leadership and executive levels
  • Identify what data and methods are needed to make insights-driven design decisions and that move projects forward
  • Be a great design team member - we make each other better designers by providing and being receptive to feedback, asking the right questions, and recognizing we each bring unique and valuable perspectives to the team
  • Shape the product design process - we constantly reflect upon the way we work and rely on our designers to help us iterate and improve
  • Evangelize user-centered design across the company
  • Share your passions (music or otherwise) with your teammates. It's certainly not a requirement to be obsessed with music but many of us are and we love beginning meetings with "walk-up songs" and discussing our favorite new releases. Others on the team regularly share their love of video games, the outdoors, local food scenes, and more.
  • Note that this role does not have any official supervisory responsibilities but there are always opportunities to mentor other designers. Our team supports growth paths that lead toward management positions or continued individual contributor work and we recognize the importance of both.

What you'll need:
  • 7+ years of experience in product design and development, preferably leading complex tooling and/or entertainment/content programming experiences - demonstrable via design portfolio, use cases, in-market products, etc. Portfolios should highlight challenges you faced, how you collaborated with others, what you learned, and the personal/business/end-user impact of your work.
  • Bachelor's degree in a design-related field or equivalent industry experience
  • A user-centered approach to problem solving that leverages research, analytics, and empathy combined with strong design intuition and best practices
  • An understanding of today's common design patterns (across mobile, web, desktop) and an awareness of when it's appropriate (or not) to deviate from them
  • Demonstrated commitment to growth and learning professionally and personally
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to tailor communications to your audience
  • Habit of sharing your work at all stages to leverage the expertise of those around you
  • Patience, kindness, accountability, and curiosity
  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

Technical requirements:
  • Expert-level skills with Figma and/or other design tools (InVision, Adobe XD, Sketch, Framer, UXPin, etc.).
  • Experience with Jira and/or other project management tools (Hive, Targetprocess, Clarity PPM, Pivotal Tracker, etc.)
  • Fluency with presentation software such as Google Slides or PowerPoint
  • Although no coding is required for this role, you must have a solid understanding of general development processes, technologies, and frameworks (i.e., presentation layer coding, iOS, Android, etc.)
  • Experience with component-based Design Systems
  • Experience with Contentful CMS is a plus

At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be inthe range of $133,000 to $180,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
