Position: Strategic Initiatives Lead NC HealthConnex
Location: 221 E. Lane St, Raleigh, NC (Hybrid, In-Person Required)
Type: Part-Time | 20 hours/week (Core Business Hours: 8 AM 5 PM)
About the Role:
NC HIEA is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Initiatives Lead to design, launch, and oversee high-priority initiatives for NC HealthConnex. The immediate focus will be creating a streamlined participant onboarding process and building a data-sharing partnership with the State Health Plan (SHP). This senior-level role requires a professional with deep experience in health IT, policy, and multi-stakeholder project leadership.
The Strategic Initiatives Lead will jump-start and organize initiatives, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure successful hand-off to permanent staff once processes are established.
Key Responsibilities:
Onboarding Process Design: Develop and implement a unified onboarding model that shortens connection timelines, sets clear metrics, and leverages enabling technologies.
State Health Plan Strategy: Establish a joint NC HIEA SHP data governance framework, expand provider connections, and initiate early use cases such as care management, population health, and quality measurement.
Enterprise Policy Support: Provide high-level policy analysis and strategic planning for emerging initiatives, ensuring smooth transition to permanent staff.
Coordinate with consultants, project managers, subject-matter experts, and external vendors to align goals, maintain visibility, and track progress.
Required Skills & Experience:
7+ years of experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder health IT or policy projects from concept to launch.
7+ years of knowledge in health information exchange, EHR integration, healthcare data standards, and privacy/security requirements.
7+ years of demonstrated success in facilitation, communication, and consensus building across diverse stakeholders.
Bachelor s degree in health informatics, public health, policy, information systems, or a related field (Master s preferred).
