We are looking for a driven, well organized, and client focused Structural Engineering Professional to grow with our team in Cary, NC.
As a Structural Engineer professional based within our Life Sciences team, you'll work on a variety of projects related to Pharmaceutical clients, including new builds, retrofits, colocations, etc. You will be performing various aspects of structural engineering assignments, subsequently increasing the depth and breadth of familiarity with design methods and tools.
You'll be a key asset, contributing to, working with a diverse team of engineers and designers on various size capital projects. You'll liaise with other internal professionals and design departments for project delivery and coordinate designs with other Jacobs offices both domestic and international. You'll have the opportunity to grow technically and professionally as you gain more experience and expand your leadership role within the organization.

Here's what you'll need
Bachelors degree from an accredited engineering school.
Minimum of 5 years of applicable professional experience.
Professional Engineering license in Structural Engineering preferred
Knowledge and experience in the design process, construction documentation, construction administration, materials and methods of construction, and model building codes.
Understanding of structural engineering design (including wind, seismic, thermal, and vibration analyses) and its interrelationship with other disciplines - particularly architecture and civil engineering.
Able to perform calculations for member designs and foundations, material take-offs for estimating, preparation of miscellaneous calculations, assisting with schedules, etc.
Able to produce and assemble construction drawing packages, including specifications.
Experience performing construction administration activities - responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, preparing field observation reports, and punchlisting.
Willingness to work remotely and engage virtually with team members in different geographic locations.
Ability to effectively balance multiple priorities; coordinating work with engineering disciplines and specialty consultants; independently as well as collaboratively.
Strong interpersonal skills - speaking, writing, listening.
Proficiency in 3-D Engineering Design / modeling, and Engineering software (Revit, RAM, STAAD).
United States Citizen.
Ideally, You'll Also Have:
Masters degree from an accredited engineering school is preferred
Proficiency with MS Office, and PowerPoint, and Bluebeam Revu.
SE license preferred
Focus on Life Sciences projects including but not limited to Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Light Industrial, and Light Chemical preferred
