Job Title: Structured Cabling Technician

Location: New York City, NY

Overview

We are seeking experienced Structured Cabling Technicians for long-term Amazon buildout projects in New York City. This role focuses heavily on data cabling for large-scale commercial environments, including installation, termination, and testing of copper and fiber systems. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of commercial cabling experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work in fast-paced, enterprise-level settings.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test high-volume data cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a) and fiber optic systems.
  • Perform cable routing, dressing, labeling, and documentation according to industry standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical drawings for large-scale buildouts.
  • Operate tools and equipment such as punch-down tools, crimpers, Fluke testers, and OTDR testers.
  • Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and Amazon-specific standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other technicians to meet strict deadlines.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial structured cabling or low-voltage installation.
  • Strong background in data cabling for enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with EIA/TIA standards and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environments (ceilings, crawl spaces).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with fiber optic splicing and testing.
  • Knowledge of network hardware and data center infrastructure (racks, patch panels, cable trays).
  • Industry certifications such as BICSI Installer or equivalent.
  • Previous experience on Amazon or other large-scale enterprise buildouts.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
