Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a highly motivated Subsystems Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and test of advanced aircraft systems within the Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) program. This position plays a critical role in ensuring subsystem performance, airworthiness, and mission readiness across multiple engineering disciplines, including hydraulics, environmental control, fuel, fire protection, landing gear, mechanical mechanisms, and electrical power systems.

Responsibilities
- Support subsystem engineering activities across the full lifecycle of the CCA weapon system-from concept development through production and sustainment.
- Evaluate contractor subsystem development plans, engineering design data, test procedures, test reports, and engineering change proposals (ECPs).
- Advise government subsystem engineers by providing lessons learned, technical guidance, and identification of key risk areas.
- Assess subsystem design and production strategies for feasibility, technical risk, manufacturability, and value; support the development of risk mitigation plans.
- Participate in technical reviews, design reviews, and test readiness reviews to ensure subsystem design integrity and compliance with performance requirements.
- Ensure consistent adherence to Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) and airworthiness processes across all program phases.
- Support subsystem testing and evaluation activities; analyze test results and drive the resolution of deficiencies and corrective actions.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality technical briefings and documentation to senior government and industry leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or Systems Engineering (Master's degree preferred)
- 10+ years of relevant experience in aircraft subsystem design, development, integration, or testing.
- Expertise in at least one subsystem domain (e.g., hydraulics, ECS, fuel systems, landing gear, power systems, mechanical systems).
- Experience supporting military aircraft development programs and understanding of DoD acquisition and airworthiness processes.
- Proven ability to interpret and assess engineering design data, test reports, and contractor deliverables.
- Strong communication and briefing skills with the ability to present complex technical information to senior audiences.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance.
