VACANCY NOTICE

Methacton School District is seeking a System Administrator at the Farina Education Center located in Eagleville, PA beginning the 2024-205 school year.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide daily administration of the district hosted and or SaaS servers, databases, applications, services and other identified infrastructure.
2. Install, configure and fully administer the district’s physical and virtual server infrastructure.
3. Develop, monitor, and implement procedures to ensure security of the district’s infrastructure as it relates to email, directory services, server infrastructure, databases, and applications and other identified infrastructure.
4. Actively monitor technology infrastructure and report to the Director of Technology immediately, via phone, any outage and/or degradation of the server infrastructure, databases, and applications as well as provide an action plan for remediation.
5. Identify, troubleshoot and initiate resolutions to client problems and concerns associated with district infrastructure effectively and efficiently Manage Active Directory, Google Workspace and other proprietary user and service accounts.
6. Support data integration and interoperability efforts of new and existing applications and services between multiple hardware and software solutions.
7. Assists and serves as backup to the Network Administrator in the setup and maintenance of servers and network infrastructure such as: firewalls, switches, access points and other system and network hardware components.
8. Act as the backup for the Data Specialists in relation to the Student Information System in the event of his or her unavailability.
9. Manage daily backups of servers, appliances, databases, and other identified infrastructure.
10. Create, plan and execute the agreed upon course of action to performance tune and or troubleshoot the servers, appliances, databases, and other identified infrastructure.
11. Support the Director or Technology in oversight of student interns.
12. Support end-user training in areas of classroom programs and technology not directly integrated through curricular programs.
13. Communicate effectively to the end users regarding scheduling and completion of installations, repairs, systems outages, and helpdesk ticket fulfillment.
14. Respond to technical emergencies outside of normal working hours as needed.
15. Work cooperatively and collaboratively in a team environment with all members of the Technology Information and Services department.
16. Maintains a positive working relationship with all district staff members to optimize working relationships and communication.
17. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.
18. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology and/or Assistant Director of Technology.

QUALFICIATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field preferred
5 years combined experience building or district-level technology
5 years combined experience managing data systems, network management, and educational technologies
Skills and/or knowledge related to network management and Student Information Systems preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Alternatives to above qualifications as the Board may find acceptable
All clearances as required by law: Act 114 (FBI/Fingerprints); At 151 (PA Child Abuse); and Act 34 (PA State Police)

COMPENSATION: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 or commensurate with experience.
