Description

Join a winning team! SAIC's National Security and Space (NSS) Sector is currently hiring for a customer within the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) in Chantilly, VA. This customer is responsible for designing, building, and operating national security-related systems based in space, in the air, and on the ground. SAIC is a strong company providing opportunities for energetic individuals with a strong desire to expand their knowledge while increasing their responsibilities.

SAIC is seeking a Senior System Engineer for Customer Outreach with NRO experience to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services to a rapidly expanding Government Intelligence Community (IC) customer for a complex space and ground effort as part of an exciting and innovative set of programs.

This position supports a System Program Office (SPO) in a technical capacity for planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of satellite system development and acquisitions that advance the NRO's space resiliency posture.

The systems engineer will join a team of on-site SETAs working a Major System Acquisition (MSA) with responsibilities that may include but not limited to the following:
  • Interacting with officials technical through senior levels of US Government
  • Planning, organizing and hosting 60-80 person multi-caveated conferences of organizational stakeholders representing the National Security Council, the Defense Department and Intelligence Community.
  • Identifying and recommending pathways to establish national, DOD and IC-level strategies, plans, policies and CONOPs.
  • Advising program managers and senior government officials with recommending pathfinding alignment of program deliverables to national security strategy objective
  • Representing the Government customer to development contractors and ensure proper messaging between the stakeholders.
  • Developing documents and briefings to communicate program/project status; brief and advise customer, industry, organizational stakeholders, and senior government officials as required
  • Supporting outreach activities through communication methods to include print and electronic; coordinate with organizational stakeholders
  • Participating in technical review and assessment of program development and readiness activities
  • Participating in technical interchange meetings between customer, developers, and the stakeholder, when necessary.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications :
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, scientific, technical, or management discipline and 14 years or more relevant experience; Master's degree in an engineering, scientific, technical or management discipline and 12 years or more relevant experience.
  • Effective communication, coordination, and customer engagement skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skill with effective technical writing and briefing skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and energetic team environment.
  • Experience interacting with Government agencies to include National Security Council, Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and intergovernmental agencies
  • Strong working knowledge of MS office suite of applications, especially Power Point, Word, Excel, and Project
  • Program management and/or public policy experience desired
  • Experience with compartmented access programs and special access programs desired
