Position Overview
The Systems Analyst will analyze business objectives, operational procedures, and user requirements to recommend automated solutions or improvements to existing systems. This role involves cost/benefit analysis, detailed documentation of requirements, and ensuring system changes align with organizational needs.
In addition, the candidate will support modernization efforts by analyzing and transforming legacy Java EE applications, contributing to enterprise-grade application design and deployment with a focus on modularity, security, and interoperability.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze legacy Java EE components (EJB, JPA, SOAP services) to support modernization decisions.
Participate in application rationalization and transformation planning.
Support technical walkthroughs and documentation activities to map current application behavior, dependencies, and integration points.
Collaborate with architects and business analysts to ensure modernization efforts retain core business logic and interoperability.
Assist with migrating legacy systems to cloud-native platforms with an emphasis on microservices and API-driven architectures.
Utilize AI code analysis tools to examine legacy Java EE applications.
Extract and document detailed business requirements and rules based on existing code.
Work with stakeholders and technical teams to validate and refine requirements.
Identify and document technical debt, design patterns, and architectural details within legacy systems.
Candidate Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
12 years of deep hands-on experience in Java and Java EE development (EJB, JPA, SOAP services), including analysis of legacy codebases for cloud migration.
12 years of proficiency with Java SE 1.8 and Java EE 8, including deployment on enterprise-grade application servers.
12 years of experience with object-relational mapping and integrating persistence layers with business logic.
10 years of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (architects, business analysts, security engineers) to align development with business goals.
8 years of proven experience or strong understanding of AI code analysis tools for static analysis, code comprehension, and pattern recognition.
8 years of familiarity with DevSecOps practices, including automated testing, deployment, and monitoring.
8 years of exposure to cloud-native transformation strategies, such as containerization, elastic scaling, and loosely coupled interfaces.
8 years of experience with Agile methodologies, including sprint planning and backlog refinement with product owners and SMEs.
8 years of strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with deep knowledge of software design principles and patterns.
Preferred Qualifications:
6 years of strong communication and collaboration skills.
6 years of experience in requirement elicitation and documentation.
