Systems Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Westlake, TX that is seeking a Systems Engineer.

Summary:
The Systems Engineer will support Engineering and Systems Operational support for Business Unit aligned functions including Application Support, Cloud Enablement, Environment Buildout and Management, Digital tier & Web Operations, Platform Engineering and Basic DMZ Network Operations. By demonstrating and promoting agile leadership behaviors, the Systems Engineer will evolve and sustain an innovative agile culture. The Systems Engineer will have the opportunity to use all of their skills in engineering, modernizing, and testing applications in addition to providing critical production support. They will be encouraged to quickly gain understanding of all the components of our applications and will work with the team to deliver outstanding solutions.

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree or higher in a technology related field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) required; Master's degree or equivalent experience a plus
* AWS certification a plus
* 5-7+ years of demonstrated hands-on expertise in configuring, deploying and/or supporting highly distributed multi-tiered systems at scale
* Experience managing technology environment stability and availability
* Knowledge of ITIL practices
* Knowledge of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and principles
* Experience with Agile software development methodologies, delivery projects, and implementation
* Knowledge of basic networking (ping, traceroute, DNS)
* Experience with search and analytics engines (Splunk, DataDog)
* Experience production support systems (Service Now, Udeploy, Jenkins, etc.)
* Experience with Linux/UNIX and Windows operating systems
* Experience with workflow design, data analysis, and requirements identification/specification
* Experience with cloud-based technologies including SaaS solutions in the cloud and AWS/Azure
* Demonstrated hands-on experience with container orchestration, preferably with Kubernetes
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines and associated technologies
* Experience with Shell and Python scripting
* Production support experience with financial systems
* Demonstrated creative and abstract thinking.
* Ability to triage, execute root cause analysis, and be decisive under pressure
* Ability to provide 24x7 support for the production environments
* Experience of docker, cloud-computing / cloud services platforms (e.g., AWS or Azure)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
