Our work depends on Systems Engineer Sr Advisor joining our team to be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in the whole process lifecycle from technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure through to application/product delivery. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, volunteers, and Partners.

HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER SR ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems
Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running Windows operating systems
Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems
Use Powershell to automate tasks, deploy applications and other infrastructure related tasks
Manage VMware to create, build, and update virtual machines Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
Interact with users and evaluates vendor products
Familiarity with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop
Ability to administer Linux operating systems as well (looking ahead at a growing system role for Linux)
Researches and recommends hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery
Develop and oversees implementation of testing strategies and documentation of results.
Provides advice and training to end-users.
Provides guidance and leadership to less-experienced staff members
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned
Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice (Note: this requirement does not happen frequently).
Maintains systems documentation Facility with and knowledge of Cloud environments and hybrid cloud/on-prem environments.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
Required Experience: 12+ years of related systems engineering experience in systems administration, operations, and analysis
Required Technical Skills:

The successful candidate will be managing the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running Windows and Linux operating systems. They will manage multiple Windows domains, using Active Directory, Group Policy, McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, Microsoft End Point Configuration Manager, Powershell, VMware, and Citrix.

Salary and Benefit Information
The likely salary range for this position is $157,250 - $212,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
