Meridian Technologies is currently seeking a Systems Programmer II for an opportunity in Columbia, SC!

Summary:

  • Position Title: Systems Programmer II
  • Location: Columbia, SC/Partial On-site

  • 12-month contract
  • Must be able to work on W2 as an hourly Meridian Employee

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Information Systems, or other job-related field or 4 years of job-related work experience or 2 years of job-related experience plus an associate s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree
  • 4 Years IT experience including varied programming experience.
  • Windows/Unix operating systems, Tool management (vendor relationship management), python/PowerShell/bash, experience with pipeline tools (GitHub)

Job Responsibilities:

  • We are seeking a Developer to join our team and contribute to the modernization, automation, and streamlining of our processes. The ideal candidate will work with Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) tools, leveraging their APIs to enhance health checks, automate self-healing capabilities, and explore the potential containerization of these tools from traditional virtual machines (VMs).
  • Someone willing to come in and own a tool and look for ways to modernize and keep the tool healthy. Additionally, the hire will play a support role, participating in a one-week on-call rotation. Our team manages the health of a variety of tools that involve security and governance of endpoints, managing and patching endpoints, tracking software inventory, monitor network devices, discover and manage IT assets, provide application control and encryption, and manage digital certificates.
  • Our team works to maintain a secure, compliant, and efficiently managed IT environment. We are not the customers of all these tools, but the team that keeps them running and healthy and maintains the vendor relationship. We are looking for someone who can come in and help us get a better understanding of the backend of the tools and capabilities to make the team better.
  • We are looking for candidates who are comfortable taking on both operator and developer roles.
