This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology and leadership-balancing project discipline with adaptability in fast-moving environments.
Responsibilities:
* Lead project management for mainframe software migration initiatives from planning through delivery
* Consult with stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and success criteria
* Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk management strategies
* Manage cross-functional teams and ensure alignment across engineering, operations, and leadership groups
* Report project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to internal and client stakeholders
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and help implement best practices for delivery efficiency
* Ensure quality and compliance across all phases of migration projects
* Work with IBM Z platform teams to coordinate testing, deployment, and cutover activities
* Travel occasionally to client sites across North America for key milestones and workshops
REQUIREMENTS:
* PMP or PRINCE2 certification (or equivalent experience)
* 5+ years of experience managing large, complex technical or software implementation projects
* Proven ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, and risk across multiple stakeholders
* Strong knowledge of IT operations, SDLC, and project governance frameworks
* Exceptional communication, documentation, and leadership skills
* Ability to balance competing priorities and drive results in a dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with IBM Z Mainframe environments or IBM Z software migrations
* Familiarity with IBM software products (e.g., RACF, CICS, IDz, or Wazi)
* Understanding of mainframe development languages such as COBOL or PL/I
* Prior experience in modernization or DevOps transformation projects is a plus
Why Join Us:
* Play a pivotal role in mainframe-to-modernization initiatives with global enterprises
* Collaborate with some of the industry's best IBM Z engineers, architects, and delivery leaders
* Enjoy the flexibility of a remote-first environment with limited travel
* Competitive compensation, long-term stability, and professional growth opportunities
