Our challenge
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Lead Engineer to join our Risk Operations team. The ideal candidate will have strong Python programming skills, extensive experience with AWS, DevOps practices, Kubernetes, and EC2, and a solid background in data platforms. In this role, Candidate will lead the development of risk-related solutions, oversee technical teams, and collaborate closely with stakeholders to enhance our risk management systems.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York, NY is $130k - $150k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable risk management data platforms and solutions.
- Develop robust, efficient Python code to support risk monitoring, analytics, and reporting functions.
- Architect and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS services, particularly EC2, and container orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Implement and optimize DevOps pipelines to ensure smooth CI/CD processes and infrastructure automation.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring engineering team members to foster best practices and facilitate continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand risk operations requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Ensure the security, compliance, and reliability of risk systems through best DevOps and architecture practices.
- Stay current with emerging technologies in cloud, data management, and risk domain, and recommend innovative approaches.
- Possess or develop domain knowledge in areas such as Risk Technology, Equities, Capital Markets, Fixed Income Trading, and Regulatory environments (training provided if required).
- Strong experience in Python programming with a track record of delivering production-grade solutions.
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, especially EC2, S3, RDS, and related tools.
- Proven expertise in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automation.
- Deep understanding of container orchestration using Kubernetes.
- Solid knowledge of data platforms, data pipelines, and data management tools.
- Demonstrated team leadership and mentorship capabilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to translate complex requirements into technical solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working within risk management, finance, or trading environments is a plus.
