The engineer will collaborate across infrastructure, security, and operations teams to document workflows, streamline handoffs, and embed governance frameworks into day-to-day activities. By combining strong process engineering discipline with technical fluency in networking and security, this role ensures that our client can scale services while maintaining the highest levels of reliability, audit readiness, and client trust.

Key Responsibilities

Process Design & Improvement
Map and document end-to-end processes for firewall policy management, security tools integration, and network engineering workflows.
Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and risks within current processes; design scalable solutions aligned with ITIL and Lean practices.
Establish and maintain RACI charts, governance models, and approval workflows that align with Fiserv s risk and compliance requirements.
Identify and address areas where the team struggles today by analyzing workflows, recommending improvements, and implementing sustainable process changes.

Operational Enablement
Partner with firewall policy engineers and network security tool owners to develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and runbooks.
Implement process automation opportunities (e.g., policy requests, approvals, audits) using ServiceNow, ITSM tools, or scripting.
Define entry/exit criteria for change, incident, and problem processes; enforce quality gates and documentation standards.

Governance & Compliance
Ensure all processes adhere to Fiserv s regulatory obligations (SOX, PCI-DSS, GLBA) and internal audit requirements.
Maintain evidence capture, reporting, and metrics dashboards for regulatory and client audits.
Drive consistency across teams by standardizing documentation, review cycles, and reporting cadences.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with firewall, security engineering, operations, and risk/compliance teams to align process execution.
Facilitate workshops and working sessions to ensure clarity and adoption of new processes.
Provide training and mentoring on new process frameworks, tools, and best practices.

Metrics & Continuous Improvement
Define and track key process KPIs (cycle time, error rate, audit exceptions, SLA adherence).
Publish process performance dashboards to leadership and stakeholders.
Lead periodic reviews and retrospectives to embed continuous improvement into team culture.

Must Have Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of experience in process engineering within a large enterprise IT, network, or security environment.
Strong understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem, Request, Configuration).
Familiarity with network security concepts (firewall policy, rule lifecycle management, security tools).
Experience developing and maintaining SOPs, workflows, and process documentation.
Demonstrated success in driving cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed, regulated environment.
Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Experience with SharePoint, Power BI, and automated workflow tools (e.g., Rundeck) to help improve visibility, streamline processes, and drive efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the financial services or regulated industries (banking, payments, fintech).
Working knowledge of compliance frameworks (PCI-DSS, SOX, GLBA) and audit readiness.
Hands-on exposure to ServiceNow, Jira, or other workflow automation and ITSM platforms.
Process improvement certifications (Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, ITIL v4, COBIT).
Familiarity with automation tools, scripting (Python, PowerShell), or workflow orchestration.
Ability to translate technical detail into executive-level reporting and process KPIs.
