Perficient has a career opportunity for a Technical Product Owner in a cutting-edge lab environment focused on innovation and technology-driven healthcare solutions to join our Product Development Consulting business unit for Boston, MA location. This role requires a seasoned professional with deep technical acumen, strong product leadership, and the ability to drive complex initiatives from concept to delivery.

The Product Owner role will focus on Collaborative lab setting focused on innovation, experimentation, and emerging technologies leading client interactions with Product Managers and business stakeholders, understanding both client business requirements as well as end-user functional requirements, and may manage multiple product owners that have delivery targeted towards a single product or solution. In situations where a Product Owner is supporting multiple delivery streams, that person has sole responsibility and ownership of the product in its entirety.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring alignment on product goals and delivery.
  • Own and manage the product backlog, prioritizing features and enhancements based on business value and technical feasibility.
  • Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and UX teams to define clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
  • Translate strategic objectives into detailed product roadmaps and execution plans.
  • Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise architecture, security, and compliance standards.
  • Provide thought leadership and mentorship to junior POs and team members.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in a technical environment.
  • At least 2+ years of consulting industry experience, with strong relationship management, and account management experience.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.
  • Proven ability to work in lab or innovation-focused environments, driving rapid prototyping and iterative development.
  • Comfortable working with technical documentation, APIs, data models, and system architecture.
  • Highly proficient in collaborating with project stakeholders, end-users, business partners, and technical team members to deliver high quality products.
  • Strong collaboration and engagement skills with cross-functional teams including Development, QA, Product Management, UX Design, and Testing; proficient in creating detailed requirements, user stories, and user acceptance criteria (UAC).
  • Excellent written skills with verbal communication experience and solid presentation skills who is highly proficient in collaborating with project stakeholders, end-users, business partners, and technical team members to deliver high quality products.
  • Ability to define high-level business objectives and drive product roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support data-informed task execution.
  • Familiarity with AI-enhanced platforms is a plus.
  • A solid understanding of AI capabilities and limitations including ethical considerations is expected.
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in agile and scrum development organizations.

Nice to have:

  • Certification - Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) is a plus.
  • Experience in the payer space or healthcare domain.
  • Exposure to AI/ML technologies, data platforms, or intelligent automation.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) is a plus.

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $64,974 to $149,880.
