Position Summary:
Client is seeking a Technical Writer, Product Documentation (Contractor) to lead the development of a structured, scalable documentation framework for its product suite, including DDM, CDMX, and RTID. This role will be instrumental in establishing best practices for technical and operational documentation, creating comprehensive guides, and building reusable content libraries that support both internal teams and external partners.

The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in technical writing for complex software products, familiarity with documentation tools and frameworks (e.g., Markdown, HTML, DITA), and the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, user-friendly materials. This is a hands-on, collaborative role that will work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Operations to ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and aligned with Client s evolving product strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and implement a documentation structure for Client s product suite, including templates, style guides, and content organization strategies.

  • Develop technical and operational documentation for products across DDM, CDMX, and RTID, including user guides, integration manuals, data specifications, and process workflows.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather source material, validate technical accuracy, and ensure documentation reflects current product capabilities and use cases.

  • Create reusable content modules and maintain a centralized documentation repository using tools such as Markdown, HTML, DITA, or other structured authoring frameworks.

  • Design and deliver client-facing materials that support onboarding, integration, and ongoing product usage, with a focus on clarity, accessibility, and usability.

  • Support internal enablement by producing documentation that helps Operations, Client Services, and Product teams understand and communicate product functionality.

  • Continuously improve documentation processes, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance content quality, and adopt new tools or standards.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in financial services, SaaS, or enterprise software environments.

  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences (technical, operational, client-facing).

  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, structured documentation.

  • Experience with documentation tools and frameworks such as Markdown, HTML, DITA, Confluence, or similar.

  • Familiarity with APIs, data exchange formats, and integration workflows is a plus.

  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple documentation streams simultaneously.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience working across product, engineering, and operations teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience designing documentation systems or CMS platforms.

  • Knowledge of financial data workflows or core banking systems.

  • Interest in visual communication and information design.

  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development environments.

Application Requirement:
Applicants should submit 2 3 samples of end-user documentation or technical guides from recent roles or projects. Samples should demonstrate clarity, structure, and the ability to explain complex systems effectively.
