BACKGROUND
The client is currently pursuing multiple initiatives and efforts in support of its strategic goal of Digital Transformation. These efforts include the implementation of Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse capabilities, initiatives of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), adoption of cloud computing solutions where feasible and cost effective, migration of applications to a cloud data center, and implementation of a modernized pension administration system to replace multiple legacy systems.
The client, along with a vendor, recently performed an organization-wide assessment analyzing the many benefits of implementing Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing (BI and DW). The candidate selected for this Technical and Business Intelligence Architect position will provide technical expertise assisting the client with implementation of a BI and DW solution working in coordination with any future BI and DW Implementation Contractor while also working alongside the client s staff to provide knowledge transfer.
Minimum Technical Qualifications
- At least 10 years of hands-on experience with full life cycle of Data Warehouse technical design and development including logical and physical data modeling, mapping data elements from various data sources and loading Data Warehouse objects including dimensions, hierarchies, fact tables, and aggregates, building the Reporting Metadata layer, as well as building the reports.
- At least 5 years of experience spanning at least two IT disciplines, including technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management or operations.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in architecture design and implementation of business intelligence and predictive analytics on cloud-based Data Warehouses.
- At least 3 years of using DevOps tool chains and processes.
- At least 1 year experience of Generative AI architecture design and AI application development.
Desirable Technical Qualifications
- 10 years of experience of data warehousing like: SQL Server, Snowflake, and/or AWS Redshift.
- 3 years of experience of using ETL tools like Informatica, AWS Glue, or Talend.
- 3 years of experience of Microsoft Power BI or Tableau.
- Cloud Architect certifications and AI certifications. The client may request a copy of the certifications.
- Bachelor s degree in computer science or related technical field. The client may request a copy of the degree.
- The proposed project person will be able to adhere to the hybrid working model by working on-site 2 3 days per week at the client s Headquarters, West Sacramento, CA. If no, provide a short explanation. (no points)
