Test Automation Engineer

Location: Remote

Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Test Automation Engineer to support the LGY Development, Security, and Operations 2.0 program. The engineer will design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks to ensure the quality, security, and performance of enterprise software solutions in accordance with VA technical and contractual standards. This role requires hands-on expertise in automation tools, agile development environments, and collaboration across development, testing, and operations teams.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Developing automated testing for functional and regression testing.
  • Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts to validate the functionality, performance, and security of software systems.
  • Work closely with developers, QA analysts, and project stakeholders to define test strategies, establish test environments, and ensure test coverage.
  • Build and maintain automated test frameworks, integrate testing with CI/CD pipelines, and analyze test results to identify defects and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure systems meet quality standards and comply with applicable federal and organizational policies.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or equivalent.
  • Collaborate with developers and analysts to define testable requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, performance, and load testing. Track and report on test execution, defects, and metrics.
  • Support system validation in agile, DevSecOps, or traditional SDLC environments.

Required Skills:
  • Must have knowledge and skills to ensure that test environments are set up accurately.
  • Hands-on experience with QA automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JMeter, TestNG, Cypress, Playwright).
  • Proficiency in scripting/programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell).
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience working in a SAFe / Agile environment
  • Ability to generate required test deliverables (plans, reports, KPIs) on schedule.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile, Scrum, and DevOps practices.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security clearance.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience in manual and automation testing
  • 2+ years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
