Transmission Department Manager Transmission & Distribution Engineering Leader

Are you ready to lead a high-impact engineering team at the forefront of transmission and distribution? This role blends strategic leadership, technical excellence, and business acumen to deliver transformative energy solutions across regional and global markets.

What You'll Lead & Achieve1. People Leadership & Development
  • Build and inspire a high-performing team of engineers and designers through strategic hiring, coaching, and career development
  • Partner with HR and Recruiting to attract top talent and oversee onboarding for interns, new grads, transfers, and contract conversions
  • Champion a culture of safety, ownership, innovation, and inclusion
  • Conduct performance reviews and craft development plans that unlock individual potential
  • Identify skill gaps and implement targeted training programs in collaboration with leadership
2. Project Execution & Technical Excellence
  • Serve as a senior technical advisor on transmission projects across domestic and international teams
  • Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions to meet quality, schedule, and budget goals
  • Drive adoption of cutting-edge tools, technologies, and workflows to elevate engineering outcomes
  • Support proposal development and QA/QC for high-profile initiatives
  • Align staffing and technical direction across regional and global teams
3. Strategic Planning & Business Growth
  • Shape and execute strategic business plans through SWOT analysis and vision development
  • Collaborate with marketing, account management, and business development teams to pursue new opportunities and craft winning proposals
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and thought leadership forums
  • Promote diversity, innovation, and continuous improvement across the department
4. Cross-Regional & Organizational Alignment
  • Coordinate with national and international leaders to share best practices and align on standards, tools, and initiatives
  • Support integration of global engineering resources for consistent project delivery
  • Assist in resource planning and work assignment to optimize team performance
5. Operational & Quality Oversight
  • Ensure compliance with quality management systems and lead internal QA/QC efforts
  • Champion continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and consistency in delivery
  • Contribute to the selection and implementation of project management systems
  • Support development of specialized offerings including EPC and program management solutions
What You Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, or related field
  • 7+ years of consulting experience in transmission and distribution
  • Proven leadership in engineering or technical environments
  • Strong mentoring, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Expertise in project management tools and methodologies
  • Track record of financial success in project delivery
