Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to join a growing team within the commercial construction industry. This role requires a strong leader with hands-on experience managing large-scale, ground-up construction projects across various locations. The ideal candidate will be proactive, safety-focused, and able to oversee complex projects from preconstruction through completion while traveling as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on-site construction efforts with strong communication, organization, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Participate in early planning and preconstruction activities following project award.
  • Collaborate with project managers to create detailed project schedules, identifying resource needs and sequencing.
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure construction activities align with plans, specifications, timelines, and budgets.
  • Coordinate subcontractors to ensure quality workmanship and on-time performance.
  • Track and support cost reporting and budget management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review and approve project-related documents such as requisitions, invoices, and field orders.
  • Maintain consistent communication with project management to report progress, address issues, and align on next steps.
  • Document daily site activity, site conditions, client communications, and critical decisions.
  • Enforce site safety practices and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Represent the company with professionalism and a commitment to high-quality project delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness and ability to travel nationwide to support project sites.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a lead superintendent role managing large-scale ground-up projects (industrial, logistics, cold storage, or mission-critical facilities).
  • Comfortable managing projects of 100,000+ sq. ft.
  • Proficiency with construction software platforms (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel).
  • Valid driver s license and clean driving record.
  • Physically capable of performing site-related tasks, including prolonged standing, walking uneven terrain, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
