Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Mine Hunting Unit Unmanned Surface Vessel Operator that utilizes advanced technology to support our US Navy Customer in Manama, Bahrain. Position will require training in Panama City for 3 to 6 months and will then require a one-year minimum deployment to Bahrain.

As a Mine Hunting Unit Unmanned Surface Vessel Operator, you will integrate into a small team charged with operations and maintenance of deployed systems in support of US Navy mine countermeasures (MCM) missions in the U.S. Fifth Fleet Area of Responsibility. The small craft employed (11-meter RHIB) is equipped with Launch and Recovery (L&R) hardware that will also require daily maintenance and minor repairs. Your assigned unit mission tasking will support data collection, test and evaluation of prototype equipment, and analysis for objectives in various harbor areas, littorals, and shipping lanes. Operations will be conducted from small boats deployed from shore, embarked from various Navy Units Afloat and/or from Forward Operating bases. Work includes operating, evaluating, engineering setups, installations, testing, and repair of onboard systems and subsystems. Tasking will also support fleet evaluation of systems in the 5th Fleet AOR and assist in associated data collection and development of tactics, techniques, and procedures for fleet operational use.

What you'll do:

The Unmanned Surface Vessel Operator will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

Employ an 11-meter RHIB that is commanded remotely by the USV Operator.
Deploy with operational package aboard US and UK vessels of opportunity.
Assist in the maintenance and operations of the 11-meter RHIB unmanned surface vessel.
Support the launch, recovery, and data collection of the Q-24 Sonar set.
Work toward obtaining qualifications in various other watch positions.
Perform technical reviews of various technical documentation, including JQR's, maintenance documentation, and troubleshooting and repair documentation.
Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on 11m RHIB and associated marine equipment to include engines, cooling systems, hydraulic systems, and marine HVAC systems.
Assist in data collection utilizing 11m USV.
Assist in maintaining ancillary equipment including generators, forklifts, and trucks.
Work 50+ hours weekly
Qualifications

What you'll need:

A High School diploma and 6+ years of directly related experience, an associate degree and 4 years of experience, a bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience, or a MS/MA degree with 0 years experience. Military and technical
A minimum of one (1) year of experience operating and maintaining a remotely operated system controlled by radio or tether.
Experience as a coxswain with boat coxswain/captain qualifications obtained through military or civilian sources.
A Medical Physical within the last 12 months due to possible remote operations.
Valid US Driver's License
An active Secret clearance
You are willing to work a minimum of one year in Bahrain (travel and lodging provided by company within flats in Manama).
Desired qualifications:

Mine Countermeasures (MCM) experience and have participated in MCM operations.
Experience supporting the MHU System.
US Navy Engineman, US Navy Electronics Technician, or US Navy Aircrewmen Training.
Civilian training as a marine diesel mechanic.
Experience towing a side scan sonar.
Experience with Q-24 Sonar System. Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
