Duration: Long-Term Contract

Job Description

We are looking for an elite-level VMware Engineer / Architect with deep hands-on expertise designing and operating large-scale, highly available, and mission-critical virtualized infrastructures within telecom-grade environments. The ideal candidate must be capable of architecting end-to-end virtualization strategies, executing complex migrations, driving automation, and ensuring platform resiliency that meets carrier-class performance and security standards.

This role demands architectural fluency, extreme attention to detail, and the ability to lead multi-environment VMware operations across global distributed systems with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities (Very Tough & Strict)
  • Architect, implement, and optimize enterprise VMware environments including vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, NSX-T, vSAN, Horizon, and cloud extensions.

  • Lead large-scale virtualization transformations: data center consolidation, vSphere upgrades, workload migrations, cluster redesign, and DR automation.

  • Design zero-downtime, high-availability architectures for telecom workloads requiring strict SLA/latency compliance.

  • Own virtualization security architecture, micro-segmentation policies, and NSX-T fabric governance aligned with telecom compliance frameworks.

  • Manage capacity planning, performance tuning, storage optimization, and forecasting for high-volume compute clusters.

  • Build end-to-end automation frameworks using PowerCLI, Ansible, Terraform, and REST APIs for fully automated deployments.

  • Troubleshoot complex virtualization issues across networking, compute, and storage layers, including deep-dive root cause analysis.

  • Serve as the authoritative technical lead for infrastructure standards, operations playbooks, and architectural decision-making.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (network, cloud, security, DevOps) to ensure interoperability across hybrid/multi-cloud environments.

Must-Have Skills (Strict Screening)
  • 10+ years VMware experience, with 5+ years in architecture-level roles.

  • Expert-level hands-on skills across:

    • vSphere, ESXi, vCenter

    • NSX-T (micro-segmentation, DFW, edge clusters)

    • vSAN (design & performance tuning)

    • VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)

    • VMware Horizon VDI

  • Proven experience with:

    • Large telecom or service provider environments

    • Multi-site HA/DR architectures

    • Compute/storage/network virtualization at scale (500+ hosts)

    • Automation frameworks: PowerCLI, Ansible, Terraform

    • Hybrid cloud integrations (VMware on AWS / Azure VMware Solution)

  • Strong background in:

    • Infrastructure hardening & security controls

    • Performance troubleshooting (CPU ready, NUMA, vMotion bottlenecks)

    • Distributed architecture design

  • Must hold multiple VMware certifications such as:

    • VCP-DCV (Mandatory)

    • VCAP-DCV Deploy/Design (Highly Preferred)

    • VCDX (Huge plus)

Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience with Kubernetes on VMware (Tanzu).

  • Exposure to OpenShift, Red Hat virtualization, or telecom NFV environments.

  • Familiarity with carrier-grade workload performance tuning.

  • Experience integrating VMware environments with SIEM/monitoring tools (vROps, Splunk, Dynatrace).

Soft Skills (Non-Negotiable)
  • Strong architectural presentation and documentation skills.

  • Ability to lead technical decision-making across cross-functional teams.

  • Must thrive in a remote, high-pressure, enterprise-scale environment.

  • Excellent communication; ability to interact with senior stakeholders.

Submission Requirements
  • Updated resume with detailed VMware project breakdowns.

  • List of VMware certifications with verification links.

  • Architecture diagrams or high-level design summaries (preferred).

  • Rate, availability, and work authorization confirmation.
