Job Title: Varicent Tech Lead

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled Varicent Technical Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Varicent (formerly IBM ICM) and a strong background in sales performance management, incentive compensation systems, and enterprise data integrations. You will be responsible for leading the technical design, development, and deployment of Varicent solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, configuration, and maintenance of Varicent-based incentive compensation solutions.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and stakeholders to gather and translate requirements into technical specifications.
  • Create and manage complex calculation logic, workflows, and reporting dashboards within Varicent.
  • Develop integrations between Varicent and upstream/downstream systems (e.g. CRM, HRIS, ERP).
  • Guide and mentor junior developers and offshore team members.
  • Conduct code reviews, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure data accuracy, compliance, and security in all Varicent implementations.
  • Support UAT, production deployment, and ongoing enhancements.
  • Maintain documentation of technical designs, data flows, and configuration changes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in enterprise software development or data engineering.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Varicent (IBM ICM) including rule writing, modeling, and workflow development.
  • Proficient in SQL, data modeling, and ETL processes.
  • Strong understanding of compensation plan design and sales performance metrics.
  • Experience integrating Varicent with platforms like Salesforce, Workday, SAP, etc.
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and projects.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
