The Vice President of Information Technology provides strategic leadership and direction for all technology functions across the organization. This executive oversees IT strategy, infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, and innovation initiatives to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable technology operations. The role is responsible for aligning technology investments with business objectives, managing complex projects and budgets, and leading a high-performing IT team. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking leader with strong technical expertise, business acumen, and a proven record of driving digital transformation and operational excellence.

responsibilities:
- Define and implement the organization's overall IT strategy in alignment with business goals.
- Set the long-term vision for technology investments, digital transformation, and infrastructure modernization.
- Ensure technology initiatives support operational efficiency, scalability, and innovation.
- Oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive cybersecurity program.
- Protect organizational data, systems, and technology assets from internal and external threats.
- Monitor real-time security threats and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
- Manage enterprise-wide IT operations, including network, systems, and database administration.
- Oversee applications development, maintenance, and integration to ensure optimal performance.
- Establish policies and procedures for system reliability, data integrity, and disaster recovery.
- Prioritize, plan, and oversee major IT projects from concept through completion.
- Allocate resources and manage budgets, schedules, and performance metrics.
- Report regularly to executive leadership on progress, risks, and outcomes.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement new technologies to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the IT organization.
- Lead digital initiatives that position the organization for future growth.
- Direct and mentor IT leadership and staff to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
- Build and sustain a high-performing, customer-focused IT team.
- Oversee performance evaluations, succession planning, and professional development.
qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including at least 8 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven success developing and executing enterprise technology strategies.
- Strong expertise in IT operations, cybersecurity, cloud computing, systems architecture, and digital transformation.
- Experience with Operational Technology (OT) networks, large automated machines / equipment, and physical industrial equipment.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
- Experience managing multimillion-dollar budgets and vendor relationships.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CISSP, or similar) preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, and experience interacting with government agencies and political leaders is a huge plus
