Our client is seeking a dynamic and visionary technology leader to serve as Vice President of Infrastructure & Cloud Strategy, responsible for driving enterprise-level transformation across a complex, distributed environment. This role will oversee over $2M in infrastructure initiatives and lead the strategic shift from legacy systems to scalable, cloud-based solutions, ensuring performance, resilience, and efficiency across hundreds of physical locations and a widely dispersed workforce. The ideal candidate brings a sharp focus on clarity of vision, disciplined execution, and a strong track record of delivering large-scale projects on time and within budget. This role will start out as a contract and will convert to full time after 6 months.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Direction & Leadership
- Define and execute a forward-thinking infrastructure strategy that supports business growth, clinical operations, and future-state cloud transformation.
- Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, articulating infrastructure risks, opportunities, and capabilities in clear business terms.
- Lead with a "cloud-first" mindset while balancing the strategic value of hybrid and on-premise systems.
Infrastructure & Cloud Operations
- Oversee mission-critical infrastructure operations, maintaining high availability, performance, and scalability across a distributed environment.
- Manage cloud migration roadmaps (AWS preferred), ensuring secure, cost-effective, and timely delivery.
- Direct implementation of DR/BCP protocols, enterprise networking, storage, and patching at scale.
Execution & Project Oversight
- Lead end-to-end infrastructure projects exceeding $2M+, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and performance targets.
- Develop and manage KPIs and SLAs to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Champion Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation practices to enhance agility and efficiency.
Team Leadership & Development
- Build and empower a high-performing infrastructure and cloud engineering team.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning aligned with organizational values.
- Maintain a pulse on emerging technologies including AI infrastructure and hybrid cloud evolution.
Security & Compliance
- Collaborate closely with security and compliance teams to embed regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA and HITRUST across all infrastructure layers.
- Proactively manage security within cloud environments to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance.
Vendor & Contract Management
- Lead relationships with cloud service providers, negotiating contracts to optimize performance and cost.
- Ensure accountability to service-level commitments, managing third-party vendors with strategic oversight.
Cross-Functional Integration
- Align infrastructure roadmaps with business objectives by partnering with technology, development, and operational teams.
- Clearly communicate the value and outcomes of cloud strategies to diverse stakeholders across the organization.
Financial Stewardship
- Develop and manage infrastructure and cloud budgets with a focus on strategic investment and cost containment.
- Monitor cloud spend trends and optimize usage across platforms for sustainability and scalability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline; Master's preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive IT leadership experience with a significant focus on cloud and infrastructure transformation.
- Demonstrated success managing large-scale infrastructure programs across multi-site organizations and distributed workforces.
- Deep expertise in AWS (preferred), Azure, and hybrid cloud architecture.
- Proven ability to manage complex vendor relationships and negotiate favorable service agreements.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with a strategic, visionary mindset and an execution-focused approach.
