Role: Performance Test Engineer
Duration: 6+ month contract to hire
Nature: 100% Remote - EST hours
*Must be able to answer questions regarding java coding and automation. A lot of performance engineers who have done interviews have only used JMeter and the record option, but we need someone who can also create the scripts from scratch with java coding.
Position Responsibilities:
- Design and implement performance test plans per customer requests.
- Measure and validate system performance requirements via automated test development
- Perform data from change analysis for performance test plan implementation.
- Conduct system and production service tests on a regular basis.
- Check design phase in coordination with capacity analysts to determine needed changes
- Analyze requirements and specifications
- Apply automation or performance technical knowledge following established procedures
- Select and apply standard testing techniques and procedures as appropriate given the nature of the project and assignment, under guidance
- Identify errors and assists in triage of errors
Required Skills:
- 5+ year automation or coding experience with the following technologies:
- JMeter- must be able to set up scripts from scratch- coding experience required.
- Coding in Java Write Scripts from scratch
- MySQL and/or Oracle
- Linux
- Strong ability to understand and identify key business processes within the project
- Exposure to middleware components such as Apigee, SSO/Pingfed, ESB/IIB, etc.
- Experience in enhancing performance scripts through: Parameterization Checkpoints Transactions Reusable functions Correlations Actions/Blocks Iterations Pacing Think Time
